Danielle and my brother Steve cleverly erected the awning, sliding the cord into the channel, smoothing down the sides and windows, and pondering where the hooks and poles went. Unfortunately there was no guide or plan, but the internet soon produced a diagram. Once we reversed the poles, everything fitted together.
Steve was amused that I wanted to label every pole and connection, so we could erect it ourselves once we reached the caravan park.
It was to prove both very useful and very poignant.
PS It is a very spacious and well constructed awning, looking like a 4 person tent. It has three doors and two big windows, lots of rubber loops for tent pegs, and even a skirt to go along the bottom of the caravan to reduce draught. Perfect for extra guests overnight. The model is Sterling, made by NR Awnings of Great Britain.
