Checking out the caravan

The winter rain was icy and powerful but Peter from ACE Caravans in Rotorua agreed to carry out a check. He declared that the electricals were satisfactory, and that the caravan was in good condition. He assured us we would never have rust problems as it is galvanised underneath. Is this good? Is this because English caravans are subjected to salt on the roads in winter? Any ideas?

I drive to Rotorua to see for myself. In the rain the caravan looks small and forlorn at the back of the yard.

Maggie and I examine the inside. At the bathroom end, we stagger as the caravan lurches forward.

‘Be careful, the struts are not down!, shouts Peter.

I am out of there.

It is still just what we want.

The curtains and cushions are retro chic and reminiscent of my lovely mother in law’s aprons.

Maggie tells me she bought the fabric from MyStyle in Cambridge, so I examine all the products on their web site.MYstyle nz

‘Getting my eye in’, I tell Danielle.’ I want to keep the style consistent’.

Her eyebrows raise.TeaSugarCoffeeRed_1024x1024

‘Next time I am back in Cambridge, that is our destination’.

More eyebrows.

Very evocative photo – heading into a misty unknown but all is well as you now have your own warm dry bed with you! Enjoying being on this adventure with you – keep writing
